Exfoliate and hydrate

Before hydrating your lips, it is important to create a canvas to make your lipstick application much more effective. So, all you need is to exfoliate your lips with a sugar scrub. You can simply apply the scrub and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then, remove it with a damp washcloth. You can apply a layer lip balm on your lips after exfoliating. This will boost your lips’ moisture and elasticity.

Before applying color on your lips, you need to prep your lips with a primer to make the color stay much longer. You can use either your fingertips or a flat makeup brush to rub on a light layer of primer. This step is not necessary for the ones with really dry lips. If you want to have extra moisture to prep your lip, you can try the primer with an extra hydrating formula.

Don’t forget the lip liner

Lining your lips is the way to make your lipstick last all day. It can keep the color from fading. For the best result, you can pick a lip liner shade similar to the shade of your lips. Then, outline and fill your lips.

After filling in your lips with lip liner, you can take out your long-wear lipstick! Liquid lip colors are easy to apply, aren’t too dry and provide opaque coverage all day. Then, if you want your lipstick last, it is suggested to choose the matte one. You can also take an extra step to set your lip color with a translucent powder. It can make your lip color goes a long way.
